1. PRODUCT IDENTIFICATION
Staples Industrial products as shipped are "articles" by definition under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Hazard Communication Standard, 29 CFR 1910.1200 and do not have a Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) number.
29 CFR 1910.1200 (b)(6)(v) exempts articles as defined in 29 CFR 1910.1200 (C)
Article means a manufactured item other than a fluid or particle:
which is formed to a specific shape or design during manufacture;
which has end use function(s) dependent in whole or in part upon its shape or design during end use; and which under normal conditions of use does not release more than very small quantities, e.g., minute of trace amounts of a hazardous chemical (as determined under paragraph (d) of this section), and does not pose a physical or health risk to employees.
Staples Industrial products are formed to a specific design and the end use is dependant upon this shape and/or design, which under normal conditions does not pose a physical or health hazard.
